What do I need to get my website online ?
In order to get your own website you need two things:
1 ) A domain name
2 ) Website Hosting
A domain name is the web address where your website is at, eg www.YourWebsiteAddress.com
Web Hosting
is the storage space, that is renting space and bandwidth, through a web hosting company.
This will allow you to publish your website online, at your domain name, so that other people can view it.
How do I register a domain name ?
It is very easy to register a domain name.
All you have to do is go to a website that register domains for businesses or individuals. Also known as a domain registrar.
When you are on the site you can type in the domain name that you wish to purchase. It will then tell you if that domain name is avaliable or if it is already owned by someone. If you find a domain you like and it is avaliable, then simply purchase it.

I am not sure what package to choose for my website ?
If you already have a website, then all you need to do is
check the amount of hosting and bandwidth that you are using now. From that you can see which package will be best.
For some customers the Bronze Package will be sufficient, but others simply must have the Gold Package.
If you are unsure, simply email us with what kind of site you have or if you do not yet have a website, what kind of site you are looking to have and what you want to have hosted on that site, eg ebook download or flash games, for example.
What payment methods do you accept ?
We will accept either Paypal or Nochex. After you have completed the order form we will send you a Paypal invoice or a Nochex payment request, depending on what you prefer and state on the order form.
What happens after I have paid ?
After we have received the completed payment request that we send, your hosting account will be created within 24 hours. You will then be e-mailled instructions on what to do next which is to change your nameservers so that they point to our servers. This usually takes between 6 and 24 hours, once they have changed then you can login to your CPanel. Your own unique login details will be sent at the same time, use these details to login to your CPanel. Thats it, you can now upload any files to your new hosting account with us.
What exactly is hosting space and bandwidth/data transfer?
Hosting is the amount of space that your site takes up, for example if you have text or html pages and images, if it is 30MB on your computer then it will be that size on the web when it is hosted.
Bandwidth is the amount of data that the server will allow your website to send, per month.
It is usually measured in gigabytes.
What are PHP, ASP, perl, etc?
These are all programming languages which are referred to by their acronyms.
PHP - PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
ASP - Active Server Pages
Perl - not an acronym
Each programming language has its own benefits and uses.
What is MySQL ?
MySQL and MS SQL are database systems. You can use a database to organize your data.
When you host with us, you can set up as many MySQL databases as you need to.
If I already have a website, but now wish to host it with you, do I have to change my domain ?
No you do not, as long as the domain is in your name and you are the owner, then you can change your site to be hosted by us. All you have to do is change the nameservers over to point to our servers.
This information is sent to you by email when you order a hosting package from us,
all you do is log into where you purchased the domain from and change this over.
Will there be any forced banners or pop ups on my site if I host with you ?
No, absolutely Not.
You are paying for webpace that is yours and yours only. No banners or pop-ups will be on your sites hosting with us, unless of course you choose to add your own.
How do I upload my site online ?
Uploading your site can be done in two ways.
The first option is to login to the CPanel located here and enter your login details.
Then you simply click on the File Manager icon and upload the webpage(s).
Alternatively you can upload your site via FTP, this is a different way and requires you to download a program. I use Filezilla which can be download from here, also a popular one is Smart FTP which can be downloaded from here.
Once you have either
of the two progams on your Desktop then all you need to do is open the program and logon to your hosting with the details you was given in your welcome email. Then simply double click on the folder titled "public_html". Now all you need to do is look at the left panel which is where all the files are located on your computer, when you find the files that you wish to upload simply drag them across to the right panel or double click on them.
Your files will be instantly on your website.
What are sub-domains ?
Consider subdomains as an extension of your domain. For example, if your site is www.example.com. then a subdomain on your site would be test.example.com, and another would be webhosting.example.com.
Subdomains are usually treated as separate sites from the main domain site.
